24 days later

It's been a little over three weeks since I pulled the plug on this blog for the time being. Generally, I've felt good about it. I've had just as little time to play and write as I imagined to have, but I miss it all - enough to still be very convinced of my eventual return. Even though I haven't had much time to actually play, I've been buying games at a faster rate than in years. My collection has grown by a lot since I first created the page for it. I just stopped by to update it, and gathered that it wouldn't hurt to tell you what's cookin'.

As I mentioned before, I'm up for a "promotion" thanks to positive feedback from customers and co-workers alike, which practically means more stress and doubled working hours, but also more diverse work assignments and substantial bonuses - in other words, more money to spend. I don't think I need to tell you where most of that money is going; I've bought four new games this week (edit: actually, six new games). I've tested only one of them thus far (literally TESTED), but I've been promised to have some downtime in the summer. I'm on official leave in both the end of June, and the end of August - and August, I think, is the perfect time for me to return and kill my writer's block. After all, VGMania turns two in early August. I think it would be fitting. Maybe I'll start spewing out new shit earlier. Maybe later. Time will tell, but I promise you that I'll be keeping you up to date with my progress more often than just this one time...

...And, I think I'll be publishing _something_ pretty soon. Not promising you any new reviews, not before I'm ready, but _something_. Till then, keep enjoying Diablo III, Max Payne 3 or whatever you've got on your plate at the moment.

The Feel Good Challenge

My best friend Henri has a blog on his upcoming parenthood - just a couple of months to go! - and he challenged me, among others, to write down ten things that make me feel good right now. Thought I'd share my list here, though I'm not actively blogging at the moment. (Of course there's some video game-related stuff there, though I tried to avoid it to the end.)

Journey is certainly an experience,
just like Flower before it.
1. My girlfriend Pauliina
2. Summer's coming...
3. ...And at the same time, I'm one step closer to not having to join the 27 Club (I survived! Hear that, Jim Morrison? I survived!)
4. Friends
5. Food
6. My recent "promotion", which is more like an expansion of my current duties
7. Buying stuff - what can I say, I'm materialistic
8. Heavy metal
9. Watching Twin Peaks in its entirety for the 15th (?) time
10. thatgamecompany's work towards diversity in video games (been "Journeying" lately)
